Sir David Brand School collaborated with Community Arts Network (CAN) to create pieces for the first iteration of High VisAbility. High VisAbility is a project that enriches and empowers students with disabilities by giving them the opportunity to collaborate with professional artists to create artwork that is then exhibited in public galleries.

Our students were mentored by professional artists Mandy White, a Yamatji artist with lived experience of disability, and South African/Persian artist Natalie Scholtz. These works were presented at the Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts (PICA) as part of the 2024 AWESOME Festival and then displayed in their own exhibition at Form earlier this year. The bold and bright artworks explore identity, place and visibility, illuminating pathways into the arts for young people with disabilities.
